Orchid Care Guide | How to Keep Fresh Orchids Beautiful
How to Care for Fresh Orchids (Wedding & Event Use)
Fresh orchids are known for their beauty, elegance, and long-lasting blooms — but proper handling makes all the difference. Follow this simple care guide to keep your orchids looking perfect for your event.
When Your Orchids Arrive
Open boxes immediately upon delivery
Remove packaging and allow flowers to breathe
Keep orchids in a cool room (not refrigerated)
Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources
Ideal Temperature
Orchids prefer a cool environment between 55–70°F (13–21°C). Air conditioning is helpful, but do not place flowers directly under vents.
Water & Hydration
Stemmed orchids: Trim stems slightly and place in clean water
Change water daily for best results
Loose orchid blooms: Do not submerge fully in water — use for floating designs or keep cool and dry until use
Handling Tips
Handle blooms gently — orchids bruise easily
Hold flowers by the stem, not the petals
Avoid misting directly onto blooms
Before Your Event
We recommend delivery 1–2 days before your event
Keep flowers cool until arranging
Arrange orchids as close to event time as possible
Heat & Outdoor Events
Orchids are more heat-tolerant than many flowers, but extended exposure to hot sun can shorten bloom life. Use shade whenever possible for outdoor setups.
After the Event
Many orchids will remain beautiful for days after your event if kept cool and hydrated. Guests often love taking orchids home as keepsakes.
